Welcome to Our Anti-Bullying Community
Welcome to the official blog for ReportBullying.com. This platform was created with a singular mission: to open your minds to bullying as a community problem, not just a school problem. When we understand that bullying affects entire communities—our neighborhoods, workplaces, online spaces, and social circles—we can begin to address it more effectively.
This blog is a space for everyone who has been touched by bullying in any way. We want to hear from targets of bullying, teachers, students, police officers, parents, crossing guards, bus drivers, school administrators, counselors, coaches, and community members. If you have been involved in any bullying experience—whether as a victim, bystander, educator, or advocate—your voice matters here.
About Jim Jordan: A Voice Born from Experience
Jim Jordan is not just an expert who studied bullying from textbooks—he is a former bullying victim who transformed his painful experiences into a powerful message of hope, resilience, and change. His personal journey gives him unique insight into the psychological impact of bullying and the courage it takes to overcome it.
Professional Credentials and Certifications
Jim’s commitment to expertise and professionalism is demonstrated through his extensive certifications and training:
- U.S. Department of Health and Human Services – Certified in evidence-based bullying prevention strategies
- Institute of Professional Counselors – Specialized training in youth counseling and intervention
- Mental Health Academy – Advanced certification in mental health support for bullying victims
The Journey to Leadership
Jim’s path to becoming one of America’s most recognized anti-bullying speakers began with a commitment to developing his communication skills. He joined First Burlington Toastmasters to refine his speaking abilities and discovered his natural stage presence. His talent and dedication quickly became evident as he earned numerous speaking awards and was elected as club president—a testament to his leadership abilities and the respect he commanded among his peers.
But Jim’s journey was about more than earning awards. As a past bullying victim, he felt a profound calling to create a message that would impact young people and inspire them to make a difference. He poured countless hours into research, program development, and understanding the complex dynamics of bullying behavior. This dedication led him to found and become President of ReportBullying.com, an organization dedicated to education, prevention, and intervention.
Why Community Involvement Matters
For too long, bullying has been viewed primarily as a school issue—something for teachers and administrators to handle within school walls. While schools play a critical role, this limited perspective ignores a fundamental truth: bullying is a community-wide problem that requires community-wide solutions.
Bullying Extends Beyond School Grounds
Today’s bullying doesn’t end when the school bell rings. It follows children home through social media, text messages, and online platforms. It happens in neighborhoods, at sports practices, in community centers, and anywhere young people gather. When we recognize bullying as a community problem, we can mobilize more resources, involve more adults, and create safer environments everywhere our children spend time.
Everyone Has a Role to Play
Effective bullying prevention requires participation from every sector of the community:
- Parents can model respectful behavior, teach empathy, and maintain open communication with their children
- Teachers and school staff can create inclusive classroom environments and respond promptly to bullying incidents
- Students can refuse to be silent bystanders and support peers who are targeted
- Law enforcement can educate the community about cyberbullying laws and intervene when criminal behavior occurs
- Bus drivers and crossing guards can supervise transportation areas where bullying often occurs
- Coaches and youth leaders can promote sportsmanship and inclusive team cultures
- Community leaders can allocate resources to prevention programs and support victims
